Student Leadership

Student leadership is at the heart of our mission statement “Be the Best; Become the leaders of Tomorrow!” At Moor End we believe that every student should be able to contribute to school life. This is mainly done through the student council body which comprises of over 50 students. At the start of every academic year, each form group elects a student to represent them on the student council. We have our elected head students with their team of senior student leaders that oversee the running of the student council. The student council meets every month with a focused agenda set by head students. The powers of the student council body include: reviewing petitions created by students, student voice via the form ballot box, administrative duties given by Heads of Year, selecting charities for fundraising for the year and much more!

Our student body has played a massive role in our accreditation as a World Class School, A Beacon School for Holocaust Education and our UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award. These awards have helped develop the key skills that our student leadership team will need in order to succeed in life after school. We continue to look for Awards that will recognise the outstanding work of our students and school.

Both student council members and prefects may be required to attend additional meetings as and when required.
