School’s Out! Kirklees

This summer there will be hundreds of free activities for school aged children and young people throughout Kirklees delivered by community partners.

Funding has been made available as part of the Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) and this programme is available to Free School Meals’ entitled families together with families supported by Kirklees Council (Social Care, Early Support, Housing Partners etc). The activities delivered also include a healthy meal for the children attending.

Kirklees Adult Learning has launched its Summer 2021 course timetable. Offering a range of short courses and workshops, there should be something to suit everyone. There are courses to help with employability skills, boost confidence and thinking skills, health and wellbeing, eating healthily and on a budget as well as helping you cope with isolation. Courses also for supporting family learning, phonics, supporting reading and how to manage challenging behaviour too.

We have redesigned our very popular cooking, nutrition and Health & Well-being courses so that we can continue to provide learning to Kirklees residents during the Coronavirus pandemic, our courses are ran online via zoom. To access our courses all you need is access to either a laptop, tablet or smart phone with internet access.
