Angela Robinson (Governor)

My name is Angie (my family and friends know me as Anj) and I work as the Business Administrator for the Huddersfield Horizon SCITT. I live in Meltham with my partner Stephen and our miniature schnauzer Hugo.

I grew up in Gorton, Manchester on a very tough council estate before leaving home aged 16. Due to my family circumstances, sadly college/university was not an option for me and I settled down and started a family aged just 19. I initially worked as a Junior Legal Secretary, before moving into a role as a Customer Advisor in a bank. As my children got older, I realised I wanted to spend more time with them and secured a receptionist role in a local primary school. I knew then that I loved working with children and young people and applied for a role as a Specialist Learning Mentor in a Pupil Referral Unit in Oldham. This was a very rewarding role, helping students overcome many barriers to learning. After moving to Tameside I secured a role as Year Manager in a secondary school. In this role I developed a keen interest in student attendance and eventually moved into an Attendance Officer role which I did for many years before moving to Yorkshire.

I now have 2 grown up children and 3 beautiful grandsons who I love spending time with. In my spare time I love nothing more than walking on Marsden Moor with Stephen and Hugo. I love to travel and dream of moving to Frigiliana, Spain when I retire.
