Pupil Leadership
We are committed and determined to develop the “leaders of tomorrow” and therefore we actively aim to develop strong leadership skills in our young people as a key focus for the academy. Whether it’s being selected as Head Girl and Boy or serving as senior prefects or as a member of the academy Pupil Council – pupil voice matters to us! It’s important to us for our pupils to participate fully in shaping our school community. Our pupil leadership structure allows our pupils to have a real say on issues that affect them as well as coming up with solutions to improve how our academy. Every tutor group in every year has an elected representative on the School Council, and this group meets regularly and every half term with the principal for a question and answer session on school strategy and pupil welfare.
In Year 11 we also have a Pupil Leadership Group, consisting of our 2 Head Pupils, Senior Prefects and Prefects. This group has tremendous responsibilities which reflect their leadership qualities, including the smooth running of Open Evening, Presentation Evening and Parents' Evenings. Key members of the team work with our more vulnerable pupils, acting as a support system and running a homework club for vulnerable and/or SEN pupils. The team are also working closely with Beaumont Primary Academy to strengthen campus links. Each week the team supports the primary pupils with before and after school activities, which range from quietly reading or sport for the more active! In addition, they work weekly with pupils to ensure that Beaumont achieves the Green Schools Award!
