Oracy

Confident articulation is promoted through regular oracy opportunities. Oracy is a part of every five-phase lesson where teachers will encourage pupils to use subject-specific and ambitious vocabulary in full sentences. As part of regular questioning and collaboration in lessons, oracy prompts allow pupils to frame and develop responses in a formal manner.

During tutor period, pupils love engaging with the weekly 'big question' which enables them to consider a range of perspectives, develop reasoning and articulate opinions. Themes and ideas of local, national, and international relevance engage pupils with their place in the wider world.
