Nina Dawe - Assistant Principal

Nina qualified as an English teacher in 2010 with a PGCE from The University of Bath and worked in Bristol prior to moving back to her hometown, Huddersfield. She has spent the last seven years at Moor End Academy and has enjoyed progressing within the English Faculty, first as a teacher of English followed by Assistant Curriculum Leader and Leader of English.

During her teaching career, Nina has led coaching programs, mentored trainee teachers, planned and delivered training for whole staff and has achieved a National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership.

Nina joined the Senior Leadership Team in 2020 as an Associate Assistant Principal with responsibility for Attitudes to Learning and Literacy. She is thrilled to be working with the Learning and Teaching team alongside maintaining responsibility for our highly successful English department.

Prior to studying towards her PGCE, Nina enjoyed a successful career as a Business Manager in the Automotive Industry working for an International company and living in London. She also travelled extensively throughout South-East Asia and New Zealand before deciding to return to her passion for studying English Language and English Literature. This experience has helped Nina approach her teaching with an eye on industry and the future destinations of our students – she is keen to help students develop transferrable skills that will help them grow into confident, articulate and thoughtful communicators, well-equipped to thrive in their chosen careers.
