Pete Tingle – Vocational Qualification Lead

Pete qualified as a PE teacher in 2008 from Leeds Carnegie. This was his ambition from a young age. Pete started his teaching career in his home city of Sheffield and then he made the switch to Moor End in 2010. Pete sees himself as a true Moorender which is testament to his years of service to the school.

Pete has been involved in the development and delivery of BTEC courses for over 15 years and he believes that the vocational route is the best fit for many of Moor End’s students.

He has worked for the exam board for a number of years as a BTEC Standards Verifier and Moderator.

Pete has a real love for all sports but one of his favourites is Rugby of which he loves both codes equally (a rare breed!). Pete has played and coached rugby for over 25 years and currently coaches a junior side at a club in Rochdale.

On the weekends Pete also enjoys Whitewater Kayaking, particularly on rapids in North Wales, the Lake District and Scotland.

Socialising with family and friends and watching his beloved Sheffield Wednesday is also important to Pete.
