Liz Roby - Subject Leader of Art, Design and Technology

Liz qualified as a teacher of Design Technology in 1998 with a PGCE from The University of Leeds. She joined Moor End Academy in May 2019 where she has quickly progressed within the ADT department, first as teacher of Food followed by Assistant Subject Leader to Subject Leader.

Liz started her teaching career in Ipswich before returning to the North, teaching at Salendine Nook in Huddersfield and The Radclyffe School, Oldham. During her career she has relished opportunities to establish and run departments, introduce new subjects and lead on a wide variety of initiatives with students, staff and the wider community. With over 20 years of experience in Secondary Education, Liz has also had responsibilities in pastoral roles and safeguarding.

Liz has a passion for pupil progress and a reputation for raising attainment. She enjoys developing opportunities for students to express themselves creatively in ADT in readiness for their future studies, careers or pure enjoyment of the subjects.

Whilst school is a very important part of Liz‘s life she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially enjoying days out and entertaining.
