Moor End Academy

Tinsel Tuesday 2015

On Tuesday, 15th December 2015, Moor End Academy was awash with fairies, elves, Christmas Trees, Santas, tinsel and lights as the annual event ‘Tinsel Tuesday’ was held to raise funds for the Academy.

There were some fantastic fancy dress ideas and students got fully into the Christmas spirit in order to raise money towards the provision of rugby posts to enhance students’ sporting experience at the Academy.

There was also a bake sale held to support this event, which raised a further £40.

A huge ‘well done’ to everyone that took part.

The overall winners were:

Year 11
Leah (Elion House)

Year 10
Ilona (Da Vinci House)

Year 9
Amna (Da Vinci House)

Year 8
Molly (Plato House)

Year 7
Kamaira and Kenisha (Da Vinci House)

All of these students received vouchers to spend in time for Christmas!

The event was run as a House event led by Miss Holmes, MfL teacher, with Da Vinci House winning overall.
