High Flyers in Mathematics 2017

Well done to our Year 8 Mathematicians who visited the Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport on Tuesday 20th June 2017 to carry out the data collection section of their investigation. 

Led by Mr Barrett, the investigation aims to develop pupil understanding of how Mathematics can be applied in a real-life context. Pupils collected data in related to passenger numbers, take-off speeds and time zones.

Pupils were also given a tour of a Concorde (one of only two fully assembled Concorde's left standing) and were tasked with identifying Mathematical facts.
